It's official — this year's Nexus lineup includes two phones from LG and Huawei.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow era begins today with the announcement of two new Nexus phones — the 5.2-inch Nexus 5X from LG, and the 5.7-inch Nexus 6P from Huawei.
The Nexus 5X is being pegged as an update to the Nexus 5 from a couple of years ago and boasts some interesting hardware. It's a relative lightweight at 126 grams, has a laser autofocus for the camera, 64-bit CPU and USB Type-C. Round back there's the Nexus Imprint fingerprint sensor and it'll be available in three colors: Carbon Black, Quartz White and Ice Blue.
The Huawei made Nexus 6P is constructed from aeronautical grade aluminum and is just 7.1mm thick. It's got a 5.7-inch WHQD display around the front with a 74 percent screen-to-body ratio. It's actually got a bigger display and smaller body size than Apple's iPhone 6s Plus. It, too, has USB-C and the Nexus Imprint fingerprint sensor around the back.
Camera wise the Nexus 6P has a 12.3MP rear shooter with a Sony sensor that's optimized for indoor photography. Round the front is an 6MP camera with HDR+ for those awesome selfies. You'll be able to take 240fps slow motion video, and the pixels on the sensor its said are 4x the size of those on last year's Nexus 6.
It's also going to be available in a range of colors: Frost White, Aluminum and Graphite Black, and of course both it and the Nexus 5X Will come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
