The OnePlus 2 hasn't exactly been a secret, but tonight OnePlus has made things all official.
Unveiled at the event, both live and in Virtual Reality, the OnePlus 2 brings some impressive specs, a moderate price, and a familiar yet new design to the table. While you won't find any glass or leather, there's a good chance you'll like what you see here — especially if you were a fan of last year's model. Some quick-hits from the spec sheet:
- Snapdragon 810 at 1.8GHz
- 5.5-inch IPS LCD at 1920x1080 (401 ppi), with in-cell touch technology and Gorilla Glass
- 3300 mAh battery
- Two models — a 64GB version with 4GB of RAM, and a 16GB version with 3GB of RAM
- StyleSwap covers in bamboo, black apricot, kevlar, rosewood and sandstone black
- USB Type-C connectivity
Both models will be available in a dual SIM/dual standby configuration, and will feature the custom OxygenOS (built atop of Android 5.1). There's even a switch on the side to manage notification volume.
The OnePlus 2 (both configurations) will be available through an invite-only system in the US and Europe starting August 11, when the 64GB version will retail for $389. The 16GB version will be available later for $329.
Stay tuned as we bring you all there is to know about the OnePlus 2!
