Is the Nexus 5X slower than the Nexus 6P?

There are a lot of questions to be asked about the new Nexus phones, but performance shouldn't be one of them.

Google launched two Nexus phones this year, and on paper it looks like there's a substantial different between the Nexus 6P and the Nexus 5X. Benchmarks are never going to tell the whole story, so the real question is: How does this phone behave with real-world usage? Since both the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P are running essentially identical versions of Android, comparing the two side-by-side shouldn't be that hard.
